Generate your own electricity with Solar PV
PhotoVoltaic systems convert daylight in to electricity. PhotoVoltaic cells once used exclusively in space technology are now used to power peoples homes. These innovative systems substantially lower the cost of electricity and could generate an income inaccordance with the Feed in Tariff initiative.
Installation of a domestic PV system.
A photovoltaic (PV) system takes 2 - 3 days to install, including scaffolding going up and down. The installation is non-intrusive, as the works are carried out on the exterior of the property or within the loft, if needed. However, consideration needs to be accounted for the scaffolding. The installer will access will be required near completion as the electricity will need to be disconnected for roughly an hour.
How does the cash back scheme work?
At the initial home visit, you will be advised about the cash back scheme. The calculations for the expected return are based on SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) and will be calculated on the visit, as the amount varies depending on three factors;
- 1. The orientation of your home,
- 2. Angle of the roof,
- 3. Current electricity tariff.
How is the electricity company notified of the installation?
After the installation has been completed, you are required to advise your electricity supplier and register for the FiT (Feed in Tariff) scheme. They will send you a pack to complete, which we will assist with completing. Payment will vary depending on your arrangement with your electricity supplier.
We offer two types of systems;
- Schott Poly-Cystalline solar panels and S.M.A invertors
These panels are fitted over the top of your tiles, as this generates in our opinion the best price on the feed in tariff. They have also been extensively used for the last 40 years in Germany, and are well established.
- Centro Solar Thin Film Photovoltaic (PV) panels
Environmentally friendly and highly resist, using far less raw materials. These are the third generation of Thin Film solar cells with Triple Junction Technology. These are more suitable to commercial roofing systems.
